Father's Day is June 15! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with a dad who has dementia, try looking at a photo album together and reminiscing about your favorite memories of dad. Pro Tip: Dad may also enjoy looking at magazines that include his favorite hobbies or interests, such as fishing, woodworking, cars, etc. These can be good tools to distract and redirect.

Flag Day is June 14! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has memory loss, then read up on the interesting history of our nation's flag together! Pro Tip: Make it a more immersive experience by singing patriotic songs like "You're a Grand Ol' Flag", "America the Beautiful", and the "Star-Spangled Banner". Music can elicit memories.

Memorial Day is May 26! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has dementia, try watching a local parade in person or on TV together. Pro Tip: If your loved one is a veteran, Memorial Day may bring up painful wartime memories. Be calm, supportive, and reassuring to let them know they are safe and loved.
