Labor Day is September 1! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has dementia, play "Guess the Tool"- present your loved one with various tools of the trade and have them guess the occupation that would use it. Pro Tip: Engage your loved one in conversation about the jobs they had and the kind of work they did.

August is American Artists Month! If you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has dementia, then check out some books from the library on American artists such as Norman Rockwell, Ansel Adams, Grandma Moses, Andy Warhol, Georgia O'Keefe, and others! Pro Tip: Books with large pictures on interesting topics such as coffee table books can be a good way to distract and redirect away from agitated and repetitive behaviors.

August is also called the "dog days of summer, so if you're looking for a meaningful activity to do with someone who has dementia, then pet dogs together, either your own or at an animal shelter!
